Praise God!
I am very pleased to report that I no longer need to pester anyone for money; I am now more than 100% supported. God has enabled me financially to do what I have been trained to do and possess a great passion for.
There are currently thirty special individuals/couples/organizations who are specifically responsible for this funding and to whom great thanks goes out to. Here they are in alphabetical order:
Udpate: This list was removed due to a violation of Avant’s Donor confedentiality policy. If you are one of the people who has helped me out financially, know that your name would show up here and that I am greatful.
Firstly, I recognize that this is not a complete list of people supporting me in ministry. There is the staff at the Avant service centers in Canada and the U.S. along with many other friends and relatives and strangers who are behind me in prayer.
However, as you read the list, you really should note is how short it is. It’s truly amazing that for me to raise capital for a full year of overseas missions work, that I wouldn’t even need to petition beyond the people I have already established relationships with.
My Current Status
At this point you may be wondering, “well, if the financial support is in, why aren’t you there?†Good question. I’m scared. A whole year away from everything I know and everything I am familiar with is very intimidating. Primarily though, it is because I am currently without a passport. My old passport only had a few months left on it and it needed to be updated. I was told at the passport office that it should be coming on the 29th of March. Once I get my new passport, I will buy plane tickets, finish any business in La Crete that remains unfinished, pack up, leave town, fly away, and begin feeling very overwhelmed.
What’s Changed?
I have a secret to share with you; I didn’t want to be a missionary. However, I did feel a tug in that direction. So I talked to people and filled out applications, hoping somewhere down the road I would get rejected and then say, “oh well, I tried.†That has yet to happen. So, instead of trying to fail, I am now embracing this opportunity. I firmly believe that I was meant for this position and until I find a Christian Moroccan Webmaster living in Spain, or get called elsewhere, I intend to fill the role.
Switching vocations to missions has had an immediate effect on my attitudes and lifestyle. I have noticed depth in my relationship with Jesus and a willingness to speak openly and publicly about him that was not there before. It almost feels as though boldness has been forced upon me. I think that for the rest of my life, regardless of vocation, I will be a minister of Jesus Christ.
In Closing
If this is the only paragraph that you read, I only had two points to bring up, and they are:
- The Christian community has been generous above and beyond what I expected, deputation or support raising only took me six weeks. Never doubt God’s Provision
- That accepting the post of missionary has in and of itself been a catalyst for phenomenal spiritual growth. Don’t second-guess committing your life to God.
I would like to thank every one of you for reading this letter, your money and prayers are what is responsible for any impact that I have in my ministry. Also, any encouragement that you can be during this time of change in my life would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Jamie

Hey Jamie,
It was a real encouragment to me to read this update. It’s great to hear how God has provided and what He’s been doing for you and in you. Although not planning on doing overseas mission work, I can identify with the desire to be invovled with ministry. Hopefully within the next six months I’ll be able to give a similar update on my behalf. In the meantime, I’ll be praying for you (sporadic as that might be), and I look forward to more updates!

Do appreciate the update and are very excited about your calling to missions. We do Praise the Lord for supplying for your needs financially. We have every confidence in the Lord that He will provide for every other need you will face in the days ahead from dealing with lonliness, culture change, language difficulties to the every day requirements of your attention to the Holy Spirit for guidance, direction and fulness.
It is our great joy to see you desire to walk with the Lord and follow His direction. May all the Glory be His!!!

Hey Jamie! We’re thrilled that you are off to Spain! It’s a place that is near and dear to our own hearts! It is also wonderful to see the Lord at work in the next generation. We are proud to see you walk in HIS ways and desire to do HIS will. Change isn’t always easy (we should know), but an up-beat, thankful attitude will make ALL the difference in how you adjust.
Fondly,
Kerri, Leslie and children

¡Hola Jamie! Well a year ago I didn´t want to be a missionary either and here I am in Spain!! I was so scared before I came over here 2 months ago but this time has been such a huge blessing to me in so many ways. There are hard and good times but in the hard times I just remind myself that this is where God wants me and He will provide the strength! So I hope you have a great trip out here - the weather is great!!
