This revelation hit me while I was washing my dishes this afternoon. I was having argument with myself because washing dishes is boring.
It started with the statement God is good, and as best as I could come up with, there are two extreme responses to that statement.
- Of course there is a God and of course He is good!
- What do you mean? There is no God!
The first thing any cynic would say is: Prove it! Prove that there’s a God. But you can’t empirically prove that there is or isn’t a God. And even if you could, wouldn’t that be against God’s nature?
The Bible, which in many circles is considered the inerrant and persistently relevant directive of God, says:
… you have been saved through faith …
It doesn’t take any faith to believe that cement is hard or that ice is cold, they are quickly and easily teted and proved. So if God could be easily and empirically proved, on what basis would entrance to Heaven be provided? I don’t know.
In my experience there is only one way to prove God’s existence, and that is the personal experience I have had with God. No, I haven’t heard his audible voice speaking to me, but you can know when God has issued a command.
There you have it, my thoughts on God and Faith. If you have anything to add, I would love to hear it, leave a comment or send me an email.

Preach it jaime!
I sometimes wonder what the world thinks of our beliefs, I step out of my shoes and look in. It is a wonder anybody comes to Christ because quite honestly we look crazy. That is why I am so convinced that the Holy Spirit is truly the only one who will let a person know, I mean really know. On our own nobody would believe.Stepping back into my own shoes nothing looks crazy, it all makes perfect sense. The Lord has just worked in so many ways in my life and I look at what he does in those around me and there is no question in my mind. He is real, and he is here and he has died on the cross for my sins to offer me eternal life. I guess it all comes back to faith. You just believe. I think that takes a miracle. Everytime a person comes to Christ it is a miracle. Praise God. Anyways those are my thoughts.
