Design

This last week I have been scattering myself across several web and print design projects, some paying and others not, making what I felt was real headway on the unpaid projects while the paying ones received nearly no attention at all. If I am to be able to last the summer, I am going to need to lit a fire.

Moving

On Wednesday morning at 07:00 I put my backpack with all my things in the trunk of the car and later at 18:00 I dropped it off at a Nor Alta crew house. The place is a little sketchy and later on I’ll post a picture of the jungle that comprises the backyard but it’s a place none the less. I did however only spend one night there as a result of the next item in the list.

Flat Tire!

Last night at about eleven as I was driving from home? (La Crete) to home (Fort Vermilion) when I heard something that really didn’t sound right. It was my car and it was coming from the rear, passenger side wheel, so I pulled over and saw that my tire was flat.

Great! I thought sarcastically to myself, never the less I did have a spare in the trunk, so I proceeded to get out all the necessary tool to replace the flat tire with a spare, but after jacking up the car and removing the first four lug nuts I realized to my surprise that the last bolt was a different size and that my wrench wouldn’t be able to loosen it.

It didn’t take me long to ascertain that I was only 300m from my parents house, so I limped my car home and walked into a very quiet house showered and went to bed, deciding that it would be best to leave this problem until the morning. So when I did get up, I called my favorite tire shop and asked them if they would have time to fix my tire, they responded with firm “yes” I then said that my car wasn’t in condition to be driven and I asked how much a tow-truck would cost, they said they would just send a guy with a wrench over.

Anyway, me and the guy with the wrench, a fellow who happens to be engaged to one of my cousins (I really didn’t know until today), got my tire off, he offered to take it to the shop, do the repair and bring it back for me so that I wouldn’t have to bother with the spare at all, I thought Wow! What service! no wonder you guys are my favorite tire shop.

So when it was all said and done I went to the tire shop to pay the bill, and apparently this work was all free, and I am not going to argue a price like that. Thanks Isaac and La Crete Tire and Battery.

And that pretty much sums it up except for the not so exciting volunteer fireman’s practice that I attended on Wednesday.
